Heh. When I got back I got involved with this. I didn't really plan to be, but somehow I now assist with the "youth committee" which mostly means that I just help schedule the school assemblies that the Impact World Tour does. So far it's been just like a volunteer organization, incredibly disorganized and a bit confusing. But, it's starting to iron out and get more consistent now that I've been working on it for a bit. That makes me feel better because inefficiency concerns me.
Young Life
I haven't really been doing much with these guys over the summer, but I will be jumping back on board now that the school year has started.
Hope City
It's a prayer room in the inner city. Well, it's in the north of Kansas City, and so far I love it. Because it's small and cute and we get all kinds of people coming in to pray and just check it out. It's so much fun. So far I'm on about 5 sets there, and I plan to help out with the administration side of the ministry as well, as soon as we can work it out with the schedule.
It's also a kitchen and just kind of a drop-in center type of place. It functions a bit like a community center. But we really just started, because even though they've been doing this for a while, July was really when they first got their "permanent" building, which is an old Boy's and Girl's Club. They share the space with the Inner City River (a church-plant) and God's Wheels (a biker ministry).
